Hi! I’m Emma.

Born and bred in Brooklyn, I came into this world sassy and singing!

Growing up I would walk to school with my mom, belting out ‘My New Philosophy’ from the musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. During those walks I found MY voice. From the age of five, Sally’s bossy philosophies led me to what I was born to do; SING!

My identity is rich in complexities, just like the candy I’m known to always have and love. Sometimes tart and sometimes sweet. Half-Chinese and Jewish and a whole lotta Brooklyn.

After graduating from Skidmore College with a B.A. in music and french, two years later I received my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance, with a concentration in opera, from NYU Steinhardt. I have come full circle with my music, exploring my voice from the depths of world music, to opera, concert-work, and now musical theater. The music which made me happy as a child is now the music I perform as an adult.

To me, music is universal and art makes being human special (and tolerable).

With my philosophies ever-changing towards a more equitable and diverse theater space, I have learned valuable lessons about life and the human condition. With the fire in the belly, join me in all my current endeavors as a performer!
